WCMB 2026 Silent auction | Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ)

Throughout the conference, we invite you to browse and bid on a curated collection of items connected to marine biodiversity. Think scientific illustrations, books, underwater photography, handmade ocean-inspired art, and one-of-a-kind experiences, all donated by members of our community.

Every euro raised goes directly to the VLIZ Philanthropy grants that support WoRMS editors worldwide. These grants enable taxonomists to fill gaps in the World Register of Marine Species, verify taxonomic information, and add missing species data. In 2024 alone, four grants resulted in nearly 9,000 edits and additions to WoRMS. By placing a bid, you are directly funding the next round of grants.

The auction will be on display at the conference venue from Tuesday through Thursday. Take your time to browse, and keep an eye on your favourite items as the bids climb!
